Vauconsant, a subsidiary of the MBDR division of the Matfer Bourgeat Group, hosted the signing of a CSR agreement at its offices. The agreement was signed by Jean-Paul Hasseler, president of the Grand Est Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), and Nathalie Vaxelaire, president ofthe UIMM Lorraine. In fact, the choice of venue was no coincidence. In fact, Vauconsant’s CSR commitment, launched in 2022, places CSR at the heart of the site’s strategy.
Why was the agreement signed at Vauconsant?
Since 2022, Vauconsant’s CSR commitment has followed a clear, step-by-step approach. The agreement between the Grand Est Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) and the Lorraine Union of Metalworking Industries (UIMM) aims to share best CSR practices with their members. Furthermore, hosting the signing ceremony on-site provides a concrete demonstration of how this approach makes a difference in the day-to-day operations of a factory. Our CSR commitments are therefore based on verifiable actions, not mere promises.
Vauconsant and UIMM Lorraine’s CSR Commitment: Measurable Actions
The UIMM plays a key role in driving change within companies in the industry. Thanks to the partnership established with UIMM Lorraine, the Vauconsant CSR initiative has a clear evaluation framework. To date, three milestones have been achieved:
First, the Level 1 CSR assessment: an assessment will be conducted and a commitment charter signed as early as 2022.
Next, the CSR Committee: active participation in the work of the dedicated committee.
Finally, the Level 2 CSR Label: Testing the New Evaluation Process as Part of the Creation of the UIMM CSR Label.
Each phase therefore makes it possible to measure the progress made and identify the next projects at the Vauconsant site.

Switch to LED lighting in 2024.
Heat recovery project, currently underway in the compressor room.

Anticipating Climate-Related Risks
In 2024, a climate assessment measured the value chain’s vulnerability to climate-related risks. Following this analysis, Vauconsant implemented several measures:
Installation of UV-blocking films.
Landscaping of green spaces on the site.
Enhanced monitoring and risk analysis.
