Safety Week at Bourgeat – Workshop on Occupational Risk Prevention

Safety Week at Bourgeat: Raising Awareness to Better Prevent Accidents

Résumer avec l'IA

At Bourgeat, MBDR Division—Matfer Bourgeat Meal Distribution—workplace safety is a daily priority. Safety Week gave our employees the opportunity to expand their knowledge through several hands-on workshops: fire prevention, identifying workplace hazards, and first aid.

Because when it comes to prevention, every action counts, this week was focused above all on hands-on practice, sharing experiences, and raising awareness.

Why hold a Workplace Safety Week?

Occupational risk prevention relies not only on procedures but also on everyone’s good habits.

That is why we chose a practical approach. Employees were presented with various scenarios similar to those they might encounter in their professional settings.

This Workplace Safety Week thus had several objectives:

  • Raising awareness of workplace hazards: learning to better identify potentially dangerous situations.

  • Develop the right reflexes: know how to respond when an incident occurs.

  • Promote prevention: Identify actions that reduce risks early on.

  • Sharing best practices: making safety a shared responsibility.

How should you respond to a fire hazard?

The “Fire Risk” workshop, led by Mathieu Maillard, put participants through realistic scenarios.

In particular, employees learned how to respond to a fire, navigate a smoke-filled room, and safely organize the evacuation of people.

These exercises help you better understand how to respond in an emergency. While knowing the procedures is essential, putting them into practice helps you be better prepared.

How can we better identify workplace risks?

The “Identifying Risks” workshop, led by Laetitia Sublet, took a fun and collaborative approach to risk prevention.

Through an escape game, the teams had to identify various risks present in their work environment. They then had to find appropriate solutions to prevent them.

This interactive approach helps develop observational skills and directly involves employees in the prevention process.

What first aid techniques should you know?

The “First Aid” workshop, led by Christine Benoist of PST38, focused on life-saving techniques.

The participants worked on several emergency scenarios:

  • Wounds: Assess the situation and take the appropriate first steps.

  • Burns: Know How to Respond Quickly.

  • Injuries: Know What Precautions to Take Before Emergency Services Arrive.

  • Emergencies: Learn to assess the situation and respond systematically.

This knowledge helps strengthen everyone’s ability to respond to an accident.
